What I am about to say can’t, and may never be used against me in a court of law…

It goes with out saying that Crocs should probably be given the most-unstylish-shoe-ever-invented award. They repulse me, old news…but Fritz, on the other hand, has been wearing them everyday since summer began. I know what you’re thinking, How could I let this happen? Well, BD purchased them on our trip to Florida in March. He went off on his own to get me and Fritz some flip-flops, I specifically said flip-flops and came back with Lightning McQueen Crocs for Fritz. I got flip-flops, thank gawd.

Here’s the thing, I hate to admit it, but they are kinda the perfect kid shoe. No ties, no velcro, Fritz can slip those bad boys on and we’re out the door. I can credit those shoes to at least an extra fifteen minutes a day. And of course Fritz really likes them cause they have Lightning McQueen on them.

In general, sandal selection for little boys is pretty bad. He won’t wear anything between his toes so there goes that. Everything else is pretty geeky looking. Also I’ve been too damn busy to get him anything else, including a pair of sneakers that fit. He’s out grown everything. So, every photo I take this summer has Fritz in Crocs. It’s upsetting but at the same time an extra fifteen minutes a day for a mom is like an hour in regular time, so I guess it’s kinda worth it. Although I say that very reluctantly.

But wait! It’s not too late people. Any suggestions on stylish little boys summer footwear? Help!

You bring a new baby into the house, then one day you look over and this is happening. Great.

Monster Trucks!!! Last night I decided I’d had enough of EIGL. I jump on Netflix and briskly typed  ’Trucks’ into the search field. Do you know what Modern Marvels is? It’s an educational show on the History Channel and is one of those shows everyone can get into. Modern Marvels covers all kinds of cool stuff from building bridges to sky scrapers to…monster trucks! This is the perfect show for hungry little young minds. In a single click Modern Marvels: Monster Trucks was added to my que and is now Fritz’s new fave. He’s all ‘Monster Trucks! Monster Trucks!’. The whole series is really intriguing and makes for great educational TV material for toddlers. Who knew? Modern Marvels, Hipster Mom tested and approved!

Hi! My Name is Samantha. I already have a blog. I decided to start another one. Foolish? Maybe. Therapeutic? Definitely. You see, I can’t talk about this stuff on my work blog. It’s too real…It’s too Momish. At this very moment I’m home and at home there is a 19 month old toddler banging on the keyboard begging for every ounce of my attention all the time. He screams, especially when I go on the computer to start blogging. But he also gives me kisses when I ask for them…sometimes. Maybe subconsciously, since I’m writing about him, he’s leaving me alone right now. Or is it the gallon tub of animal crackers I gave him? No matter, this is where I can let you, mom’s or to be mom’s, know what it’s like. Hey dad’s, or to be dad’s, you should listen too. Come and sympathize with me. Come and chastise me. Guess what, I go “out”. I love my kid. He Wears skinny jeans and so do I. I get drunk, he doesn’t. I go to the park when I have to. I say fuck in front of my kid 100 times a day. I hate my neighbors and their kids. I live in one of the 5 boroughs of NYC and somehow feel like it’s the suburbs. I have a lot going on. Im a business woman, a wife and a mother. It’s hard. It’s fun. Sometimes I feel like Im going to loose it. But it’s just a day in the life of The Hipster Mom. Stay Tuned!
