Bangs Out, High Hair In

by samantha on July 24, 2009

Bangs

If you’ve followed any of my blogging in the past year or so you will know the struggle I’ve had with my bangs. They were damn near impossible for me to grow out. A) Because I I didn’t know what the f*ck to do with them as soon as they got past my eyebrows and B) Because I need Botox on my forehead. So, as you can see from all my recent pictures I finally have found a way to wear my hair sans bangs while they grow out. I’m rather happy with my new look. It’s also inspired me to wear black liquid liner and work a 1950′s bad girl look. Out of curiosity, which do you guys like better?

I really like bangs, however the way you are wearing them till they grow out looks sweet.

Keep the bangs, they are so cute!

Cassandra July 24, 2009 at 9:41 am

Both are equally cute.

I prefer without. Not only does it add a level of sophistication but it also brightens your face. I love the accompanying winged eye-liner. Very urbane.

Bangs are definitely cute, but I love the pompadour — it’s one of my favorite looks and, I think, highly underrated and under-worn. WTG! :)

i love it either way. one is sassy fun (bangs) and the other is sexy mama. both are pretty classic

haha this is so great cuz you’re wearing plaid with your hair down, looking all Working Girl, and all Casual Socialite with your hair up! I like the pompadour; especially for summer and for your new SAHM lifestyle!

When my daughter was little (she’s 11 now) she had bangs and we grew them out. I always did a little Pompadour to her. The cute thing is that she dubbed it a “French Poodle” (at like 4) and still calls it that to this day.

So, while your bangs look hot, I totally dig your French Poodle!!

i LOOOVE the 50s look, it’s so badass and it suits you very well

mel July 24, 2009 at 11:50 am

i think the bangs look the best.

i really like the pompadore for summer. it’s really fresh & looks like it keeps you cool. but i am partial to the bangs but that’s probably because i have them too. :)

Love the new hair do…when your a mom you don’t get very many chances to change up your look. Keep the new look….and loving the eye liner…

GLOSSY July 24, 2009 at 1:32 pm

I like your hair both ways, but I think you should keep the bangs!

Marie July 24, 2009 at 1:59 pm

Without bangs, you look prettier. Or maybe that is because you are pregnant. You look prettier both ways of course!

I like the no bangs! I have been a slave to the bang for many – a – year, and I know how hard it is to change! I recently changed to a side flip and added a little blond..Soooo much easier to take care of and I’m not totally screwed when the wind blows! I’m also a SAHM and it’s good for us to switch it up every once in a while!!! You look fresh faced for summer, and I love the liner.. no sweaty bang forehead this summer!! <3

alana July 24, 2009 at 4:29 pm

They look way cute! But I find it hard to believe that it took you a year to firgure out that the best way to keep bangs out of your face while they grow out is by pinning them back. lol

Your bangs are pretty rockin though too. Keep both. :)

Juli July 24, 2009 at 5:57 pm

You can always grow them out and then cut bangs again if you don’t like it. You look adorable either way

Nessienessa July 24, 2009 at 8:13 pm

I hope this doesn’t come off wrong but I just feel like the bangs remind me of the old samantha. The missbehave samantha. Is that weird? I don’t remember how long you had bangs but it feels like forever.
I do , however, agree that having the bangs out of your face really brightens you up.
and I’m a huge fan of winged eyeliner.

Sona July 24, 2009 at 8:24 pm

I will always be a fan of the bang. On everyone. BUT having the same struggle every year I also know they get old and can be kind of high maintenance. You look awesome either way so grow them out, you can always cut them again!

samantha July 25, 2009 at 5:11 am

I agree. The bangs are like the old me. It was high time for a change. I can always cut them back but a new look was totally in order and I finally made it over the hard part!

Jamie July 25, 2009 at 1:35 pm

How do you do your eyeliner like that?!
I love it!

samantha July 26, 2009 at 4:07 pm

@Jamie I am not a makeup person at all. I usually just throw on some bronzer, blush, lipstick/gloss and curl my lashes. But I started to want to feel a little more sexy…maybe it’s the pregnancy? But liquid liner is suuuuper easy. And I’ve been wearing a sex kitten pink lip.

Jessica July 28, 2009 at 9:00 pm

Those bangs are bangin’, baby!

Tulse Luper January 14, 2011 at 12:24 pm

BANGSBANGSBANGS. Much sexier.
