Williamsburgtopia: A Parenting Journal From the Coolest Place on Earth

by samantha on January 26, 2012

This September I moved back to my beloved Williamsburg Brooklyn after an uncomfortably long stint in Queens. There is something about Williamsburg—hipster, yuppy and gentrification jokes aside—that makes it a very special neighborhood and community. Actually, there isn’t another place in NYC, maybe even the world, that I would rather live. I think what’s so great about Williamsburg is that its got a small town feel with big city amenities. Friends are abundant and anything you need is within walking distance. The school system is decent and we’ve got a great park. Cheese shop, independent bookstore, American Apparel, Oh My!

Because I am such a Williamsburgophile I thought it would be fun to reserve a special place on this blog solely for neighborhood fodder and gossip. And that, there is plenty. Stuff like coffee house reviews, bathroom pit stops, playground ranking and where to get a good haircut—it will all be filed under the new category Williamsburgtopia. So whether you’re from here, near here or just like seeing what’s going in our neck of the woods check back and click the Williamsburgtopia button on the righthand side for archives.
